4. buried treasure

4. buried treasure

A Chapter by Jordan Williams
"

i wrote this for a friend of mine to sing when she was starting a band

"

when we danced

the world stopped spinning

each kiss a brand

new sweet beginning

we saw in each other what we thought we couldn't view

perceptions colored lighter, everything made new

we shared a glance

that lasted a lifetime

we took a chance

hoping we might find

solace in each other's souls that we adore

but what we found was so much more

when we held hands

we felt elated

but fate's demands

can't be evaded

he was a radiant gem that shone brighter than any treasure

but the true value of beauty is that it doesn't last forever

when we first started, it was exciting to feel

something that amazing could never be real

a freeing magical free-fall

a fleeting feeling i can barely recall

i never dreamt that this would happen

it occurred once, it could again

i try my best to hold on to hope

but to love and lose is hard to cope

when we danced

we had no worries or cares

now no romance

could ever compare

that feeling of completion now leaves me feeling empty

digging up those long lost all too real memories
