The Dark Woods

The Dark Woods

A Poem by camps
"

Something I just came up with.

"
I was walking along the empty streets
and subsections of my mind.
It was 3 a.m. when I stopped to think
and a passage did I find.
This winded down the darkest woods
As it got further away, it got thick.
I pondered whether or not to follow
The voice that said "Come quick!"
I told myself to walk away
Something inside didn't feel right.
The voice had come from behind a wall
Just behind that was a light.
My feet did not listen to me
and decided to move forward.
There was nothing I could do or say
Something was drawing me toward.
A burning light that seared through night
and opened up the darkness.
Then a terrible smell grew thick from hell,
The smell of a rotting carcass.
I tried to force myself to turn away
The voice said "Don't stop, come a little closer."
When i got to the wall my heart started to fall
As I realized it was my own corpse there.
