Poetry

A Poem by Cocoacandy

Rhyming poetry makes me itch,

The similar words make my eyes twitch.

The annoying rhymes get my skin crawling,

The repetitive sounds make me want to start bawling.

As a self-taught poet, I prefer free verse,

The strict rules for rhyming would send me out in a hearse.

This type of poetry makes me ill,

Though it may take skill,

We all know the drill,

You have to rhyme still.

Now having written for years of three,

I get my inspiration while being near forestry.

Though I must admit,

Rhyming does show wit,

It makes me want to scream,

And throw the writing into the nearest stream.

So leave me here with my paper and pen,

And show me your rhymes, never again!

You did very well with rhyming. I have no ability to rhyme. I like the flow and the ending. This was a fun poem to read. Thank you.
