A diamond in the rough,

A shell in the sand.

I'm not perfect,

I never said I am.

I’m far from perfect,

I’m far from beautiful.

Why can’t I be like you?

Why can’t I love myself?

And everyone else.

Why do I always see the bad?

And never the good.

Why can’t I treasure,

What I never could.

Why can’t I put away the scale?

And put the mirror down.

Why am I always hiding that little frown?

Why is it there in the first place?

Right from the start.

Why can’t there be only happiness,

In my little heart.

Very, very true with a capital 'T'. This was exactly the case with me till one of my friends told me that i should love myself. We learnt a lot last year at school from each other. We learnt something or the other from each and everyone!!! I miss seventh grade :'(
