Only wed the one you truly love.

Shallow Dreams

 

 

 

A man can love so deep

With heart and tongue

Weep and sing

Glimpse of white

Long seems

 

Yet red and white

Will never mix

Some hearts

Will shoot

And miss

 

Lost in cloudy skies

Within an inner mind

You stone the thought

Yet can’t compete

So flee

 

A man can fall so deep

Wet eyes to match

Flushed cheeks

Love so thin

So cheap

lots left to the reader to fill between those lines ... that subtle double meaning in the second line brought a smile to this face :) i think this poem is an honest peeling away of a man's heart .. we mostly chose not to show it ... i like that you point out how men do love deeply anyway ... makes me think of this:
