To the children I will someday have

I am doing the best I can

Searching for your father

Whoever he may be

I can’t promise he’ll look like Brad Pitt

Or that you’ll inherit beautiful blue eyes

And a pearly white smile

I can’t promise you he’ll be rich

We probably won’t live in a castle

I wouldn’t even bet on a house on the beach

I do promise you this

His arms will be cozy and warm

He’ll give the best hugs

He may not have blue eyes

But I know they will shine

With passion and love they will shimmer

Love is hereditary too

And he will love you

So you in turn you will love like we do

There is one thing can I promise you

One thing that will always be true

We will love you
