Stay

Stay

A Poem by Cocachloe

Gentle fingers run through my messy hair
Sleepy eyes look into mine
They say a sweet good morning
And promise many more
They whisper they’ll be here
When strands of gray run through my chestnut hair
Wet lips brush my cheeks and linger on my lips
They sigh in soft contentment, just happy to be there
Lying in love amidst messy sheets
On a bed that is our castle
The world can’t cross the moat
So don’t leave sleepy eyes
Stay with me my sleepy man
There’s nothing more important
So stay
My sleepy man with sleepy eyes
Stay

Amazing use of imagery, this poem is fluid and flows perfectly. The final line "Stay" is gripping and gives a great foundation to the end of the poem, it has a very powerful impact.
