IF ONLY GIVEN THE CHANCE

I feel your soul around me,

growing more peaceful everyday.

And I know you hear my every thought

and the silent words I pray.

I look off into the distance

and it is you I think I see.

But it's just my mind drifting back,

to a familiar memory.

Memories that I keep locked up,

safely in my heart.

That just keep on repeating,

Like the day we fell apart.

Sometimes i just don't understand,

And I have to ask but why ?

But I have to believe God took your hand,

and lifted you way up high.

High above the endless clouds 

and even the stars we see.

Took you from your pain and grief,

Where you now stand next to Thee.

I guess I am just being selfish

and I hope God understands.

But I would hold you tight..Not let you go.

If only given the chance.
