Pleasures of the Hungry Soul

Pleasures of the Hungry Soul

A Chapter by Constance
"

Another write inspired by one who no longer inspires. His memory, to me, will always rest in peace in these poems.

"

Exquisite intoxication

sinful decadence that taunts and persuades

flashing with the gleam of the gold

found in the deepest part of his soul

Those orbs of molten chocolate that are his eyes.

Masterful dancers

graceful and deft

adept at the art of motion

singeing the flesh as though lightning

has struck the center of my being

Those pillars of flame that are his hands.

Succulent nectar

nourishment quenching

that quiets the hunger pangs of the soul

passing from one cup to another

the fount of joy, youth and sweetness

the answer to my pleading.

That enchanting moment when we kissed like fools.

What a lovely ode to someone who was once very special to you. Beautiful descriptive quality - especially about the eyes. Thank you.
