Dust And Glitter

Dust And Glitter

A Poem by Constance

The hand that caresses, can hurt

The heart that truly loves, can kill

In person, or on a screen you'll see

Evidence that life's a bitter little pill

'Til you learn to seek the glitter in the dirt

As it all unfolds before your gaze

At times you'll espouse disillusion,

You won't want to see the end

Yet, don't get lost in this confusion

For there shall soon be other days

The hand that hurts, can caress

The heart that kills, can truly love

In person, or on a screen you'll see

Evidence of blessings from above

And you'll smile without need of duress

Till you learn to seek the glitter that's in the dirt.
I don't suppose just anyone can REALLY understand this.
But I know you can.
Your struggle to express what you have learned and how you really feel is evident.
And important.
Yes! there will be other days..........and other lives I believe.......not too worry too much in this one, for it is all just experience..........I am told, that on the other side, things here take on a different meaning and reason.....
I can relate to this and am duly touched.
Nice work, from a true poet and writer.
