Experience

Experience

A Poem by Constance
"

My reaction to the ten word challenge by Albert's poetry Cafe here on Writer's Cafe. The words given are bolded.

"

In the silence I wonder that I shouldn't be

One of life's forgotten casualties-

The last water-drop in the empty vase

That cracked at its swollen throat

Or the withering blossom fallen

To stain the fine-grained wood

With the residue of sick, sweet pollen:

A result of a quick, surprise ambush

By the overfed cat called experience

In the silence I wonder that I shouldn't be

Yet, thankfully, I am not.

Interesting. Alot going on I wasn't sure about the end then it hit. You wonder if you shouldn't be, but thatnkful that you're not. Creative.

Lovely! And kind of frustrating to know we are just " A result of a quick, surprise ambush /By the overfed cat called experience"!! But any way we are also "experiencing" and doing the best we can with that! :)

Oh well done Constance. Each line was a delight and I enjoyed the read so much.
The 10 words were so seamlessly interwoven and the final result was one awesome poem.
Thank you for submitting this to Tovli's 10 word challenge this week!
