Paradox

A Poem by Alexandra

I am better without you, more my self.
Life enfolds beautifully, producing testament and legacy.
No longer lost in the inadequacies you clad me in,
I recognize the pearl before the swine.

And yet I am only fragment misplaced.
My soul resides within you, inside the us lost in future past.
Truth falls from my eyes one crystal at the time, no more rivers- they ran dry.
Frozen in your smile, my future is tasteless. Your words plentiful and empty raid faith, giving birth to a deformed corpse once called love, now known as regret.

I count hours, embrace insomnia, try to break the strengthening tide of thoughts in my mind.
Why’s have never filled an empty heart.
Will providence be forever ailing?

Intellect reveals scarred form well camouflaged by snakelike grace and piety.
I walk the fading halls of memory,
prose like apparitions echo and fall dead to earth.
.Miss thee, love thee, loath thee, endlessly
–I dance alone.
