The sun and the moon.

The sun and the moon.

A Poem by brianna vega

As I dive deeper into my self
I feel the pull of the waves
I didn't want to exist with you this way

I miss the crashing against sand
But you leave me with silence and day break
I am the moon
Dark and small
Watching the animals of the night as they blow thier smoke
And deliver the dance of drums

And you the sun
Big
Bright
alive and awake
Nourishing and burning all that lays in your way
Shining light upon me so I radiate

But here we are though I crave to crawl into your intense embrace
I know I will turn into nothing but ash.

Your words suggest a surrendering of heart and spirit to another's demands - perhaps considered an essential to survive YET denies exactly that. Ash you will surely be: nothing - to be blown away into... space. Extraordinary phrasing, passionate, yet a death-wish of sorts.

Painfully beautiful, I can feel the vast distance, the shadowed places of you where the light never reaches as you wander the night. Here is a whole life in a poem.
