ex lover

ex lover

A Poem by brianna vega

Ive missed your kiss
the way it sends shivers through my lips
a chill that exist somewhere between my chest
i missed the way you smelled
and the crazy antics that gave me bliss
however now when we embrace i start to feel sick
i miss you
so deeply ive become frightened of you
that heart break that left me at the tip
the edge ready to plunge
ive stepped back
walked away from that cliff
and i dont believe i ever want to go back
what is it in you that drives me to this
something between love and lust
passion and patience
Have I grown in  this distance
have i become stronger to battle against the winds that once pushed me so close to the edge
lovers come in dozens
each begging for a taste of my lips
but i crave something more
something you once were able to give
but can you give more
have you grown through our distance
I used to hope that wed find each other again
find home once more rib to rib
yet my mind keeps telling me to resist.

Lovely poem! The emotion is encapsulated perfectly, and the desires can be heard screaming. I too know the feeling of being deprived of affection and wanting more from somebody I can no longer have. Great work! :)
