Life's Circle

Life's Circle

A Poem by Shakespeare's Daughter

Death

It means so much

To so many people

Some are afraid

Some curious

But most

Most

Are worried

What will happen

When I’m gone

Who will care for

My loved ones

Who will miss me

Will anyone

Miss me

Worries

Claw at their mind

Like frantic birds

Trying to get out

Of the warehouse

Where they are

Trapped

Dying

Piece by piece

Day by day

Hitting the window pane

For the last time

But in the corner of the warehouse

Their eggs

Are hatching

And life comes

Full circle

These birds

Try to get out

And die

And it starts again

Life

Is a never-ending

Circle

Forever

Going around

And around

People are born

Wonder

Live

Then die

Their children

Keep the memory alive

Till they die

Then those children

Tell the stories

And through something

Or someone

Your memory is kept

Alive

Forever

Being told

To the ends of the earth

And your life

Lives on

the birds are such a good metaphor; it's a whole new way of describing those thoughts.
