Homeland

Homeland

A Poem by Invisible Ink
"

But I believe above all that I wanted to build the palace of my memory, because my memory is my only homeland. - Anselm Kiefer

"
When a sea captain
I sailed wide and far
When lost at sea
Your circling light
Always brought me
Back to where you are

Safely on your shores again
I cast my anchor in
The blue of your eyes
Brings me back to where I begin
My hand in your hand
You, forever My Homeland

I, the salty waves
Lapping on your coast
I, the circling gulls
calling out your name
I, the brave ship
With you, my silken sail

Nice sentiments and metaphors. "I cast my anchor in
The blue of your eyes." Great phrase to go along with the poem. I like it. Good job.
