Young Love

Young Love

A Poem by crashandburnplz
"

A couple of Ellen Hopkin's books inspired me.

"

Inside her, it's calm.
She meets someone, someone new.
Out of the norm, many would say.
They pass each other, fingers brush.
Electricity shoots.
A new, ultimate, type of drug is found.
She can't believe this new feeling.
It's taking over her.
He's the drug.
Merely thinking of him makes her high.
Catching a glimpse of him takes her to Cloud Nine.
Being with him is pure Heaven.
She can't live without him.
She's taken too much.
She's gone forever.
Can't break the habit.
It's breaking her instead.
Her insides; her brain.
Her heart.
They've gone completely haywire.
Nothing is right anymore-- not without him.
He's a drug,
Plain and simple.
Her friends tell her it's stupid.
'Give it up, he doesn't feel the same way,'
They say.
Poking and prodding her,
Until she's had enough.
The once calm is now a raging storm.
Her insides; her brain.
Her heart.
They can't take it anymore.
She's already gone.
Just a shell.
Once a living, breathing girl.
Now, a walking shell.
She's no longer alive.
Not inside.
That's normal, after finding the monster, the ultimate drug.
All girls go through it.
It's normal. Though it goes by a different name.

Young Love.

I know I need to make it not-so-choppy. Any ideas would be great.
