Angels

Angels

A Poem by Angad Waraich

ANGELS
I happened to look upon an angel one night,
An angel so beautiful and in all her might,
I stood awed and mesmerized at her sight.
But little did i know that even angels harbour a darker side.

The devil too was once an angel they say,
So is it wise to gamble with your heart your love this way.
I closed my eyes and took that Leap of faith.
I caught her as she feel and held her as she wept.

Burnt wings and broken pride.
Betrayed by the god she loved with all her might.
Lost faith in all human kind.
A fire of vengeance lurks behind those eyes.

Is she my salvation or my doom instead?
Befallen angels look for love they say,
I Tried to free her of her eternal damnation.
And thus loved her with all my might.

Held her hand and walked her through a hell ablaze,
Never looked back never thought twice.
But now i do,
Trapped in the dark hole you left me in.

I made peace with her demons but she ran at the first sight of mine.
I finally crawled out and made it out alive
Maybe its true
Angels do harbour a darker side.

Forgave love so she wouldn't have to help me fight my fight
The halo , the wings aren't worth that prize
So she leapt and soon was one with the sky
And every once in a while i see her fly by .

It is true angels do harbour a darker side.

An interesting read, telling a powerful and insightful tale! I have a bit of Good and Bad to impart here, below.

The GOOD: As above, this is a great tale, one speaking of perhaps a strong experience, and so I praise it for this. The manners in which the narrator relates to the "angel," and even the characters depicted, are quite believable and relatable, and the truth of this situation is immediately evident in the emotion of the narrator.

The BAD: I wasn't too fond of the amateurish vocabulary used, and believe this piece would have struck a lot more powerfully with me if more impressive, vivid terminology were used. As well, some grammatical errors are present in the piece which are frequent enough to present issue, but beyond that, I did enjoy the message the piece had to tell.

I loved it every one, the story, prose, poem, lovely, and your imagination is unreal. I love this dark angel; the lesson you give us in the poem; I'm saying to myself towards the end, there are dark angels, and of course your beautiful ending made me feel good, like in a movie, they want us to know, we are guessing correctly, thus the hints. We done. Thank you. Dale

A really great tale in your poem. Angels can have a darker side, sometimes they are called demons, part of the fallen group who fell with Lucifer.

A very impressive write.

Well in that case you're most welcome.
This poem reminded me of the song MAPS by maroon 5.we may be there to tackle their demons but when we are at our worst people have a tendency to run away. Yes whom we think to be angels are infact selfish people who only take they dont return the favour. Overall this piece touched my heart.some typos and grammatical errors are present. Hope you figure it out. :)

The pleasure was all mine. Take your own time. :)
Wow this is great! It speaks a lot of truths about the world in general. Man people "lost faith in all human kind" because they have been subjected to and see what goes on and that's all they can think of. Opening our minds and hearts to the good is so necessary in life. Sometimes we're burned, but even the bad experiences happen for a reason; to help shape who we are meant to become. It is sad nonetheless...
Beautiful write my friend!

A heartfelt, touching, yet romantic poem you have here. I can see this as a love poem, also a poem really about an angel. It works well for both ways. Thanks for sharing

Thank you for your review.
I don't know but this reminded me of the beautiful tale of Orpheus and Eurydice :-) I love the uniqueness of this piece, most poems about angels talk about all of their good sides, I mean it's not bad but taking another turn here is clever. Excellent work!

You're very much welcome sir.
This is a truly beautiful start to an intriguing tale. The idea behind this piece is ingenious. With a little bit of editing and word play this could be a masterpiece. There were a few misspells, grammar errors and word repetition, but those can easily be fixed. Great start. Thank you for sharing.
