It Isn't Always Just Me

It Isn't Always Just Me

A Poem by Topaz
"

Self acceptance and understanding

"

Sometimes

things just

don't work out.

He might fulfill

every check

on my list.

Yet, all day

I have been

hearing

I can't make

you love me

I can't make

your heart feel

something it

won't......

In my mind

over and over

and I finally

understand

that it is not me

but that

it is you.

I have tried

in vain

and ultimately

it is you

your mind

your decision

to love

or

not to love.

If I accept you

than I must

accept

the truth

that you are not

in love with me.

This is not

an insult.

It is not a reflection

on me.

It is fact.

If I accept this

I do not get to

cry and feel badly

or to feel

sorry for myself.

I chose this.

I have agreed to

allow for you to

work through

some things.

Time.

I get to let you go

or

I get to hang onto a myth

or

I just might get what

I want given time.

Some things are not rushed.

Some things are worth the wait.

A splendid read and write...Thank you for penning...:>)..................

This is an excellent example of a situation that is probably all too common. In most cases, that man would have once slayed dragons for the apple of his eye. They make pills for a lot of things--if only they made a "love restorer", they'd sell them by the billions.
