Telling my heart to move on

It's just like sitting alone
All by yourself
Waiting...
Wishing....
Wondering....
What life would be like
If I hadn't ever met you
or thought about you,
dreamed about you,
longed for those kisses.
What if my heart
hadn't felt what it did
When it did,
for as long as it did.
And I know they say
you can't go back again
but I just had to
one more time.
I thought if I
could touch your face
or feel it.
This brokenness inside me
might start healing.
Out here I feel
like someone else,
Hoping maybe I could
find myself.
But I lost you
Inside that process.
Now I realize,
The hardest part
of getting over you
is telling my heart to move on
because you're gone.

i understand this perfectly. the title fits the profile. your poem shows what a heart can/could go through of trying to let go. sometimes this is hard to do. good write.

I absolutely love the first line- it drew me right in.

This is so touching. I feel you girl, I I have been through this and of course is a hard thing to do but, sooner or later time will dry the tears and the heart will heal. I love this poem a lot. Great Job :)
