Dearest Devil, you know that this could never be

We are separated, torn apart, and that's destiny

You know I have loved you from the orifice of time

From the day I learned about you, that day so sublime

I remember your burnt skin, your scars and your eyes

How for me, you fought all the darkness, all the lies

How my presence alone pained you, how you fought it for me

How you loved me more than ever, even though you were not free

Oh my beloved devil you are not dark from inside

You simply seek refuge, a place for you to hide

A place for you to hide from the mistakes that you've made

The scraped wounds to which you have never received aid

But my love, you know that this could never be

While I am dawn, clothed in light, shining bright;

You are dusk, melting slowly into the canvas of the night

With this final tear I'm leaving, and I yearn for your voice

I wish I didn't have to, but I have no other choice

Oh my beloved devil, I must leave, but you, I will always love

I must go back to heaven with the other angels above
