Where Have You Been?

Where Have You Been?

A Poem by Cynthia
"

Underneath, there's great sorrow

"
Where have you been?
The same place I went to?
Hiding in the shadows?
Deepen in the sorrow?

I'd once thought there's a spark,
 underneath my mask,
but there is nothing,
except the heart broken sound.

I'd once thought of love,
but that is decades before,
before bleeding and dying,
and left with a silent sob.

Maybe moments after,
the memories will be erased,
but after all people died,
then that is the end

Death should be though of as a rebirth since the soul is always carried on. I enjoyed your poem very much, I could feel your expression while reading it and I liked the lines:

underneath my mask,
but there is nothing,
except the heart broken sound

I have to agree with the other reviewers. Are you sure you're 12? If so then you are very mature for your age. I don't know many 12 year olds that can write a poem with such depth and emotion. This is very good.

I cannot believe you are twelve.. or at least that is what your profile says. You are wise beyond your years! People who are different are usually the people who have the best pieces in writing I have found. Or even paintings - if you studied art at all you will find a lot of the artists were quite odd. You are good at expressing your feelings and that is what I look for is someone who isn't afraid to go all out with their feelings. I see you have the potential to go far and progress to even be better. Great write!

I love this poem. It's so engaging because of the questions demanded from the addressed/reader. You capture clearly and succinctly the absolute desolation of love.

With so few words you have espressed so much. Well done.

This is very moving. Life does seem to be filled with so much pain and sorrow from so many sources. We can only hope we find lots of love and happiness too. That way we will live on within the lives of those we have left behind. I like your poem a lot.

This is amazing!! Poems are best when they come straight from your heart. :)

Death is the end for people who did nothing. My Grandfather died 15 years ago. I say his words and remember his laughter everyday. I believe life is simple. Good people are remembered for their good deeds and love given. A excellent poem. We will be tested and maybe become disappointed. Love and kindness will leave us content and happy in a life.
