Life Purpose

Life Purpose

Question?

What is your life’s purpose

It is a perplexing thought

The riddle that perforates your mental activity

And torments your existence

Am I doing enough?

Am I helping enough?

Am I happy enough?

Am I famous enough?

It’s a race, the clock is ticking

Your desk looks old and weary

The dust mites have put up signs

You have 10 days to vacate this property

A bungee jump is appropriate

Seeing the world upside down could be beneficial

The red convertible was a flashing neon of a dilemma

Not to you, but to myself

The question you realize is, If money was not an issue, what would you be doing?

Is it too late to help with the extinction of elephants in Africa?

I’m trading the convertible for a Subaru and picking up some insect repellent !

The dust mites climb in the box with the rest of my ancient relics,

I think they are planning an intervention!

My plans are loose, and my heart is a little anxious

But my purpose, is no longer without a purpose!

"Life Purpose"
Hebe,
this one seems to point to the moving outside of a self centered inner existence. Actually we grow out from whom we are inside. How often does a person find themselves behaving and doing naturally what and who they are in the day to day...how we interact? This is actually the key to our purpose. what and how do we behave without even trying? Good questions posed in your poem. I enjoyed the challenge.
Blessings,
Kathy

we should be happy all the time and we should not spend the time in worrying. It is life. I love your thought that you have worded in this piece. I appreciate it. Thanks for sharing. Keep writing.

Hi Szhzia... wishing you happiness everyday...many thanks:)
Yes Yes Yes! I mean spot on! I mean I think people including myself spend so much time worrying about life we miss chances to live it. And I love the question Is it too late to save the elephants! Yes there is still time to heal the wounds in the world! I love this poem!

Thank you Tate, love to make people think, first step to making changes :)
Life is a moment by moment adventure. The past does influence our views and our future. The concern for humanity shows through.

You are welcome! For that you have to have a passion which I sadly lack..
I believe each one of us here are fulfilling a life's purpose, simply by writing and interacting with each other from all parts of the world. It's pretty incredible when you sit and think about the difference you can make in someone's life, in someone's day, simply by what your heart and mind can construe in cyberspace!

I liked the poem. Poetry with a good message. People who forget nature, the animals of earth and the other folks we share the planet with. They find a dark ending. When we learn. Life is more than us. We gain wisdom. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry. I liked this one.

You are welcome my friend.
I find this intriguing and whimsical. I really wonder how many of us possess sufficient presence of mind and introspect to take such a look within. Are we good? Are we bad? Have we honored life on earth, or have we just wasted space and air? On the other hand, have we smelled enough flowers and watched enough sunrises? I like the way your mind works.

Nice job. Very thought provoking. You pose some interesting questions.

Just a few quotes on life by my favorite author:

"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined."

"Our life is frittered away by detail... simplify, simplify."

"Things do not change; we change."
