The White Dragon

The White Dragon

A Poem by Damijin Spade
"

This is part of who I am. I felt the inspiration to write about the gift/curse my gods bestowed upon me.

"
Loyal
Fierce
Noble
Brave

These words describe the beast
But what about the man?

The man is not mindless
The man is not destructive
He does have a heart
He does have a soul
He can love
He can feel
He is righteous
He is just

But all that is lost
When those he loves
Are in harm’s way

His happiness
His sense of justice
All thrown aside

No mercy
No compassion
No emotion
Just that desire
To destroy
To hurt
To burn all in his path

But what can I say?
Those that hurt me
Are deserving of my wrath

Very well Written, There's always 2 sides of a person i Reckon but you put it down quite effortlessly.well done

What I like here is the tension between the two ideas, the image of a violent person who has a personal side, then the contradiction of the last verse of somebody that has the right to pass on his anger. Maybe morally a bit dubious, but a good piece of writing.
