Eyes Alter the Page

Eyes Alter the Page

A Poem by Daniel DelMonacco

I feel a presence

Swimming through me

Like unfamiliar DeJa vu.

Open my eyes wide

Only to see it all,

And all I see is you.

Moving through me,

Suspended from time

And devoid of age.

How do you read me so well,

That I can't feel you

Turn the page?

Unparralleled,

Unprecedented,

Unrivaled,

Until now, my absentee.

But in the end,

To my surprise,

It was

You

Who found

Me.

Won't you see me again?

This I repeat.

This I implore

To you,

Whom I irrevocably adore.

Dare to gaze

Like we once gazed,

Once before?

 But "Quoth the raven,

'Nevermore, Nevermore.'"
