Dr. Doppler Effect

Dr. Doppler Effect

A Poem by DoormanDan
"

Sometimes, a little bit of extra confidence can take you to the moon and back

"
Dr. Doppler Effect

I am Dr. Doppler Effect
Administering a dosage of immense self-respect
I am Dr. Doppler Effect
Expressing confidence in every offense and defense
I am Dr. Doppler Effect
Affecting this malevolent mess in your head
I am Dr. Doppler Effect
Infecting you "pathetic pricks" with riffs so sick

I can't deny
I have contrived cyanide skies in which I've decided to reside
So surprise!  It ain't a surprise my lifeline began to liquefy
But with the might of a sunrise slicing through the night
I've refined my stride with sublime enzymes
So I can apply my dynamite design to the mic
And explode into the worldwide spotlight like-sike!
In actuality, a celebrity's reality
Is unlikely to summarize my mortality
But through instrumentality of avidity
I'm likely to maximize other's affinity
For the reformed form of the core recourse
Who's horns perform terraforming manuvers
On the quicksilver seashores of my mental fort
To deform the Horrorcore torn sands of my support

I am Dr. Doppler Effect
Administering a dosage of immense self-respect
I am Dr. Doppler Effect
Expressing confidence in every offense and defense
I am Dr. Doppler Effect
Affecting this malevolent mess in your head
I am Dr. Doppler Effect
Infecting you "pathetic pricks" with riffs so sick

And that't not to mention every lesson
And legislation of momentous pretension
I enacted to react against infractions
Frustration exacted on my tact traction
I commit to confess to failing to repress
The protests suggestin' I let convention caress
The connections directin' the neurological tests
That protect my intents from pathological kicks
I can't deny
Expectin' a session of d-d-dubstep treckin'
Investin' to be nothin' but embarassin' and self-degradin'
Evident were prevalent intrinsic insinuations
Of failin' in excellin' in intensive immaculate creation
But I've inspected the special FX
Projected in the films I've directed
And now new tech I'll implement in every epic
As testament to the cinematic ailments I've ascended

(Oh yeah, that explosion is SEXY!)

I am Dr. Doppler Effect
Administering a dosage of immense self-respect
I am Dr. Doppler Effect
Expressing confidence in every offense and defense
I am Dr. Doppler Effect
Affecting this malevolent mess in your head
I am Dr. Doppler Effect
Infecting you "pathetic pricks" with riffs so sick

(Um...well...crap, this sucks!  I had this whole song mapped out in my head for God knows how long, but now I've just lost all momentum.  You see, this is the issue with both being in college and being wonderfully inept at managing your bloody time; you end up hardly every working on the things you WANT to work on because you're too busy haulin' booty to get done everything you NEED to get done!  Hence this possibly lame-butt attempt at a 4th-wall thrashing that would make Deadpool roll in his chimichanga filled grave!  Wait, isn't he immortal?  Wouldn't that mean he doesn't have a grave?  Then again, if he is immortal, that's the ONLY way he'd  be able to make his own body roll in its grave...but he'd have to be very bored to fake his own death so that he was actually in a grave to begin with...ah, screw it!
Well, this whole segment may actually be detracting from the song, but you know what?  I've been scared of the whole "live and learn" jazz for too long!  I'm leaving this in here, and I'll just accept whatever consequences or rewards that may come my way because of it!  Onwards to the completely unnecessary fourth main chorus!)

I am Dr. Doppler Effect
Administering a dosage of immense self-respect
I am Dr. Doppler Effect
Expressing confidence in every offense and defense
I am Dr. Doppler Effect
Affecting this malevolent mess in your head
I am Dr. Doppler Effect
Infecting you "pathetic pricks" with riffs so sick

Damn, this took me about three weeks on and off to write because of college! I honestly thought I'd never get this thing done! Anyway, as you can tell, this is, a thing. I drew inspiration from hip-hop for this piece, and decided to just have fun. And then there's the section right before the last chorus...
You want the truth? The entire time I was writing this, I was stumped on trying to figure out what to put there lyric wise (the reason I decided not to just leave it as is is because the piece didn't feel finished that way). It was only this morning, when I actually had time to think about it, that I decided to just poke tonnes of fun at the fact that I always take lyric writing too seriously (as shown in my MANY apologies for a piece "not being as good as it could be". So here you go! Is this good? Is this bad? I don't care (just kidding, I do care about feedback)! I just had loads of fun writing this piece, and I hope you had fun reading it! As usual, tell me what you think! Until next time! :)

I'm laughing even though we all do this. I don't even get how you're still writing I rarely have time in my schedule with everything especially since it's it near the end of my first semester. Just continue on I love your writing when ever I get the chance to read it.

Ahahaha this had me going pretty good! I love it and I'll tell you why, you're right, we do tend to take our writing too seriously. This was so fun to read and it gave me many laughs, especially the Deadpool stuff XD

It's really honest of you to write something like this, because I've done similar things. I'll be trying to finish a sentence in a story and end up just typing what I think instead. "As Cassandra opened the door she couldn't believe what was.......... why am I a writer if I can't figure out this simple sentence?" In a weird way I think it helps us realize that we need a break from being so serious. As always, great work :)

The hardest parts of the writing process for me would definitely be starting and finishing a piece. .. read more
Hey, you stick with college, get good grades, write in your spare time, later on you will have more time on your hands than you can fill. Just ask any old timer. Valentine
