Shadow in the Etherglow

Shadow in the Etherglow

A Poem by DoormanDan
"

Whenever life begins to tear somebody down, it's up to that person's loved ones to help him/her to maintain a sense of love and hope

"
Inspired by recent happenings in my life.
Shadow in the Etherglow

Like a ballerina partaking in bittersweet ballets,
You're lissome and lyrical,
But can't see the true finesse of your flow.
You should celebrate, for your angelic elan is innate.
Instead, you let malice maul
The self-reverence which helps you to grow.

When the precious and playful have become woeful and wistful,
We must show them the love they no longer know.

If you can't hear Wisdom whistling to you from infinity
Over the deafening gales
That flay your mind until you're feeling frail,
Just know that there's only humanity in humility.
Don't be afraid to unveil
The tenderness you hide within yourself.

When the precious and playful have become woeful and wistful,
We must show them the love they no longer know.
At times we're vulnerable, but never less remarkable.
Everyone's a Shadow in the Etherglow.

A mellifluous mentality can lead to an eternity
Brimming with breathtaking language and iconography,
But oftentimes, it's buried beneath the conscience's cold complexity,
Slowly suffocating under the weight of apathy,

So
When the precious and playful have become woeful and wistful
We must show them the love they no longer know.
At times we're vulnerable, but never less remarkable.
Everyone's a Shadow in the Etherglow,

Shivering in the Spacetime snows,
Waiting for someone to kindle their souls with hope.

Lissome - thin, supple, graceful
Elan - energy, style, enthusiasm
Wistful - having a feeling of vague or regretful longing
Mellifluous - sweet or musical; pleasing to the ears.

Author's Note

DoormanDan
The inspiration for this piece really just came out of nowhere, and I was somehow able to write this piece in one sitting, in between college classes, in just three hours. I was really aiming for something more positive, powerful and poetic than usual this time around. How do ya'll think I did?

On a different note, I promise I'll try to get back to reviewing things a bit more frequently soon. I'm still in the midst of finals time at college, and don't have much time to devote to reviewing stuff. In a few more weeks, that should change, though! Until next time. :)
