As If Happiness

As If Happiness

A Poem by daninstockholm

As if happiness
Was a country or a farm
We plant our rootless souls
Withered and inanimate
In the lifeless soil
Hoping to avoid
Paying the taxes

oh this is cool and had an opposite twist from what i expected...a really clever line...we hope that happiness can grow from sadness without too much taxation of emotion...but we know that taxation is as inevitable as death, isn't it?

great short piece, dan.

Thank you again! It is a pretty dark piece for being so short, isn't it?

Surely, it's quite true that, 'small things are great things'.
It's short and weighty.
Nice job, I love it.
