windowheart

windowheart

A Poem by dan

you were waiting
for a frown from a clown to fulfill your dreams,
for the rain to conceal your tears,
for darkness to hide your fear
so i came to comfort thee...
you embraced me
and i instantly knew
i was lured forever
inside of you.
though i settled in that place
where i don't always belong,
i felt in my heart that i was home.
you sheltered me
with the walls of your soul.
but i got stuck
without the image of your face.
so i tried to search for you.
i stood by the door
i knocked but it was locked,
nobody heard my plea.
thus i peered through the window.
i saw the clouds as they became
the shadows of the sun,
and it dawned on me
that i was trapped forever...
the plant would wither
and it would take me.
i was beseeching thee
to shine on me, let me live,
to let me leave you and let me see,
when i realized that deserting
such comforting solitude
would turn out to be
another painful song in the valley.
so i pondered on
to be trapped in your memory,
could be greater than living in actuality.
and i came up with a consolation:
someday when my sanity fades,

i would be free.

until it was you

who managed to escape
from my memory
and the veins of your heart
that chained me
set me free.
we came to forget about each other
i forgot about you,
and you forgot about me.
but never will i forget the words
i whispered to the wind
because your heart is my only window
to the beautiful world outside.
so when my eye is the only oasis
left in the desert, welling with tears,
you can always drink on me.
then just smile a little
and you're gonna make me yours again...

...and again make me see
the view from the window of your heart.

Yes - What makes the world go round? Is it really love?
Dunno, but I enjoyed reading this, and for some strange reason I heard John Denver singing "Perhaps love" while reading it :-)

I loved this! Fav lines:
so when my eye is the only oasis
left in the desert, welling with tears,
you can always drink on me.

How powerful and how soft at the same time!
Wonderful write!

this is really well written, i loved the use of words..."for the rain to conceal your tears"...i loved that. this is very relatable and it showed the struggle really well. it presented this choice which i could relate too, but then i am still stuck, but you made it that, even if things get better and you "forget" about each other, somewhere deep within, you would remain trapped and bound in that love but then, you wouldn't mind because it is such bliss to be there. great job!

Really hard for me to pick a favorite line.. touching .. very beautiful and well written
to gaze from the window of the soul in captivation.. looking through the glass of anothers spirit
windowheart"...feeling the walls close in.. wanting to be free from love that binds...
whispering to the winds. desiring infinity's oasis.. you take reader to anothe place and time
the sense of wanting is overshadowing.. excellent job!

you sheltered me
with the walls of your soul."
