Groves of Remembrance

Groves of Remembrance

A Poem by darem aq.

Groves of remembrance

Listen to wind
as it swiftly escapes
for a better fate
in a bitter dream

will we ever storm out?
unto joy and delight
fluttering in awe
as memories cast us aback

waiting...
in fallow shelters
that offer no warmth
nor restful sleep

hear the tune
of the weary past
resonating within
that dreams of escapism

the scheme of care and trust
to ever do us apart...

I could hear the gentle breeze gently blowing away all the sadness to another planet as I read this. If only eh ?
Very nicely put together.

Thanks for share

Often we seek the sad memories we hold dear rather than the blessed ones... why is this? I think it's because the blessed ones remind us of the saddest ones.
Wonderful work, you know...

Very nice. I really enjoyed this one. The imagery is beautiful and it feels like the words are flowing through you like a breeze or wind or words that you're remembering from the past... I'm not really sure what I mean at this point of lacking sleep but it's really well written.

There is such rich depth in your words, facing the past, feeling the present, wondering of the future... all in the sounds of the wind... its whispers resonating around us... Beautifully done.
