Elusive "today"

Elusive "today"

A Poem by Aldora Sparrow
"

Written for my creative writing class. Thanks to all that suggested titles (it really helped)! And I hope you like it!

"

Yesterday…
Someday…
Everyday except today…

But when will we learn to play?
To dance the fleeting heartbeats away?
To sing any flavor of song that we may?
And enjoy life before our hair turns gray?

Because we invariably stray on our way
Because to capricious time we are prey
And because elusive “today”
Isn’t…here to stay

honestly the poem is ok but I want to learn more about structure. You seem to structure your writing so well.I read your stuff but I don't have anything constructive to say because you are right on.

This has a childish vibrance to it. I couldn't help but awkwardly smile while reading it:) Nice

I like the dreamy and surreal feel that this poem gave me. I also liked the rhymes throughout the whole poem, it made it very easy to follow. Great job with the words and message. I enjoyed this peace. And sorry I can't think of a title, I'm horrible at titles -_-'

I love the dreamish feel your words create, drifting us over the days, longing for the freedom to play, and dance, and sing... Beautiful words... Perhaps, The Elusive Today... Wonderful poem!

The Title could be a "Child's Wish" The poem is great :)
