Downfall

Downfall

A Chapter by Krithika

Knees pulled up to my chest, the curtain of my hair covering my face from the possible people around. The emerald grass and the golden sol adding joy to the surroundings and the people around but not me, not my heart made of crystal, cold and frozen which might shatter if I take up any more critiquing. I try to keep it together but I’m aghast to what’s approaching. I braid my heart each time it loosens scared that it might break sooner than later. A lard tear rolls down my jowl, helpless in this situation. My dark times following me around like my shadow never willing to let go. I try to hold on the silver thread, wiping the tear that rolls down and standup, I wear a smile hiding my misery behind. With one last thought on my mind I uncurl myself and walk back to reality.
