A Poem by Donald Cole
"

a commitment to God for a season.......

Solitaire

I'm walking through this world today

and a few things on my mind

And my heart is speaking so quietly

of the thoughts I've come to find

In busy days and restless nights

And a mind that goes so far

Still reaching for the the hope within

Finding where in me, You are

And I only see my footsteps

I been watching where they go

And training my eyes to find the things

That You long for my heart to know

And some days its not easy

And other days its not fair

Still I'm hanging on the inside now

In a game called solitaire

But its not really a game you see

For the stakes, they run so high

And the time, well, goes on forever

It doesn't always fly

Sometimes I won't know what I'm doing

Cause I can't see too clear

If I'm getting in my way You see

And I don't feel You near

Love, well it is something

And You know, I try to share

Yet I've given You my promise

To play this bit of solitaire

What it is I'm hoping for

Maybe You'll let me see

Because I don't want to find my way alone

What it is You've planned for me

So I'll try to find me inside out

In walking through my fear

And become the man You want me to

So help me hold You near

I feel a lot of little things

I'll keep them down inside

But all I have is me You know

And You know the tears I cried

Still, You know the strength I hold

And my desire, I want from You

I continue to pray, and be on my way

And my love will wait on You…….
