Love Bite

Love Bite

A Poem by devon

Eyes, eyes, eyes

Christ, yours were so hypnotic

I can’t forget the way

those cold fingers trailed the places

your tongue had tattooed my collar, my throat,

my neck

Mornings never agreed with your need

to sleep into the late afternoons

I’d never dare wake you

(I liked the way you talked in your sleep)

November came, and on a Tuesday night,

you turned so cold and you

bled me dry, dry, dry

Even my veins, you left me so damn empty

And it’s been 38 days

and 38 sleepless nights, questioning

was I in love with a boy

who broke my pathetic heart

or were you a f*****g vampire

and I just couldn't believe in you?

This is a bit different from what I normally do, especially because of the language, but I couldn't sleep tonight thinking about this. Let me know what you think!

This is excellent, the originality of your diction is notable. I like some of your techniques. Like italics and brackets. You have to write more, that's the best way to hone your own eccentric talent since your possibilities as a poet are enormous.
