My story...

My story...

A Story by deadlife
"

"
My life's not worth sixty nine words, but otherwise I'll be out, so. . .

Well, I've always been out, as I've always failed to their commands.
I asked for the sky but given oceans, wanted to fly, but was ordered, "Swim!"

But I had wings.
So I drowned, died, and failed.
Yeah...my life's not worth sixty nine words. Just two would do.
As they call it, 'a failure'..!

Nicely penned.
I like the way you express the frustration of unfulfilling your dreams in the verse:
,,I asked for the sky but given oceans, wanted to fly, but was ordered, "Swim!",,

Yep, you got one ***** confession here.

Some birds do learn to swim, or just float... ;-)

Congratulations on the win!

Well, for 69 words you did very well and I DO NOT AGREE WITH THE TWO WORDS YOU SAY IS YOUR LIFE!!

Look at it this way - if your life was a failure you wouldn't have written this and if you hadn't written this you wouldn't have the placing.

The mere fact you entered this, makes you a winner and for you to achieve this in so few words makes it doubly so.

I really love the idea that we often ask for and seldom get that which we desire, as in your line

"I asked for the sky but given oceans, wanted to fly, but was ordered, "Swim!" "

it is so true for so many of us.

Be proud of your achievements - while each one may seem small at the time, they DO add up.

Take care my friend
