Colors

Colors

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

Just a thought that entered my head and wouldn't leave till I put it on paper.

"

If life were black and white

skin tones would still be light or dark,

it just wouldn’t make a difference

if it were night or day.

Imagine if we all bleed black,

not knowing if what were spilled

was blood or ink

leaving a fine line between

the written word and death.

What of a world so white

that details are undefined?

The wolf could blend with the sheep

with little effort of disguise.

Colors don’t separate the world,

they give it character.

It is our perceptions

that decides the fate of their life.

I like this. I like the last part especially about how color gives character and don't separate the world. Blood or Ink....I like the comparison...too cool

Thanks... I get philosophical now and then.
"Imagine if we all bleed black,
not knowing if what were spilled
was blood or ink
leaving a fine line between
the written word and death."

This is just simply mind blowing to me.. You have outdone yourself. Sometimes it's those simple thoughts that don't leave us until we stop what we are doing to write it down...that have the most impact..xo Excellent as always Dale..xo

Love the parallels here, you colored outside the lines, and gave your brush strokes perfection..great read Dale!

The pleasure was mine, it's on my bookshelf now....
Wowowow! I like the analogy here, Cowboy.

What if there are no colors but only black and white?
You're right.
"Colors don’t separate the world,
they give it character.
It is our perceptions
that decides the fate of their life."

Very clever! I like the concept, very unique. Amazing.

Thank you very much.
That last verse pretty much sums it up. A strong and vibrant poetic message that we should all heed.

Thank you very much.
Again another inspired write... like I once wrote... everyone sees the sky as blue... only do they realize in truth the color is not so... As for color... the characterization is whatever makes you feel on the interior... not the exterior of which we as a society focus on the most...
