A Song In The Key Of Rain

The much needed rain we got this morning inspired this piece.

 

Water droplets fall

Gently massaging the Earth,

Bringing new life to dull dry land.

The sounds the rain makes

Become a soulful hymn,

A spiritual revival

Not only for the parched planet

But for those connect

With nature’s unseen heart.

Never out of tune

She brings peace

To a cluttered atmosphere.

The refreshing scent she leaves

In her aftermath

Is the antidote

That clears my busy mind.

I have been following the news of CA's drought with much dread and concern. I see that the two major agricultural valleys are being denied water rights access. People complain so much about the "bad" weatehr in the northeast, but I will tell you what- live in an area that does not know if the rains are ever coming back and every drop becomes precious. We take it for granted that taps will always run when they are turned on, and it is someone else's job to keep them that way. We all need a big lesson in reality and the preciousness of normal rains. All of our lives depend on it.
