In The Spirit Of…

In The Spirit Of…

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

This is for my best friends grandmother who was also a grandmother to me.

"

In The Spirit Of…

(Dedicated to Ethel Mae Smith)

There are many things in our lives

Hard to comprehend,

The passing of a loved

Is the mother of them all.

In times of mourning and grief

Of saying goodbye to someone

Who put life into our heart

The bigger picture

Becomes microfilm in our mind…

Heaven is continually

Fighting the good fight,

Every angel that enters the pearly gates

Is a victory for God’s team.

Ethel was a soldier of right

Sharing her love and wisdom

To all those blessed to be

In the presents of her grace.

Her mortal form brought peace

In a world of rage,

Now her spirit is at peace,

Resting on that mountain high.

Protecting the family

With the shelter of her wings

And showing humanity the light

As her halo shines bright.

Thank you Marie, I was blessed just knowing her.
I agree, you've created a touching tribute with your unique, skillful way with words. "The bigger picture becomes microfilm in our mind" is an imaginative and apt metaphor. Indeed she must have been a great lady. I'm sure those we have loved and lost to death are now our guardian angels.
