After The Power Ballad Faded Away

After The Power Ballad Faded Away

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

I wrote this interjecting names of Power ballads from different artists.

"

Without you I am learning what it takes to go on without something to believe in.

Now that you’re gone I struggle to understand what the legacy of my heart will be without you to dance with.

Dreams are not enough when trying dream that your love is on the way

Your lyrics will forever be painted on my heart even though our beat doesn’t go on.

Love bites hard when I can’t find my way home to you.

I must find comfort listening to the radio at the twilight hotel listening to a love song that is not yours until I can lay my broken heart in a hopeless pyre so it can permanently rest in peace sleeping in the fire.

True logic and thoughts in the powerful poem my friend.
"Love bites hard when I can’t find my way home to you."
The above lines. Legacy left for heart till death makes us forget. Thank you my friend for sharing the outstanding poetry.

You are welcome my friend.
Barring a few grammatical errors, this one is a good poem. I would consider changing the font to something that makes reading it easy :)

I like this -- I might suggest to change the font -- the sizes are a bit distracting -- possibly use just small italics, or just put the names of the songs in the notes. (Dreams are not enough when (trying to dream?) or dreaming? as the sentence is presently it is a bit confusing.

you are welcome. I enjoy visiting.
I have to admit, I wasn't identifying with the songs so much, but I do identify with your overall message. I wonder if you meant to say "without you" in this line: "what the legacy of my heart will be with you to dance with."

I can feel the longing & disappointment in every line. This sounds totally original, that's why I'm amazed to read of your exercise in using song lyrics. I love such entertaining hurdles to overcome while still writing in a natural, flowing way, so that it isn't apparent you were trying for any particular effect.

I did me without you, thank you for catching that. And thank you for sharing your thoughts.
“…until I can lay my broken heart in a hopeless pyre so it can permanently rest in peace sleeping in the fire.” Whoa! Powerful line.
