Pop That Illusion Bubble

Pop That Illusion Bubble

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

I like country and pop music along with rock and other genres... this is just a metaphorical melody.

"

In a country song

The princess would arrive

In a pickup truck

Dressed in jeans and boots,

Ready to get down and dirty with chores

While the man who loves her

Is working by her side,

Before raising the roof

At the local watering hole.

But when you pop it up the princess

Is prim and proper,

Covered in glitz and glitter

As she is whisked away

By her prince charming

To live happily ever after

In a glamorous existence.

Many think that country

Is not the better life,

Disillusioned to the fact

That pop is based on a lie.

Thank you dear Poppy.
I am sooooo into this comparison! I love the naturalness of country & hate the glitz of pop. You've managed to do this in a politically correct way, critiquing the music genre instead of blasting the actual cast of characters involved, but we all know the meaning goes deeper than music! *wink! wink!* I really like the line: "when you pop it up" which (combined with the next line) makes for good alliteration.

Well thank you very much... glad you appreciated the comparison to make my point.
All that glitter is not gold and all that glam is not happily ever after. Country life, real life, suburban wife… all more real and more to be treasured than the greatest wealth. :D

YVW :D
Everything is glamourised today; but then, everyone likes a fairy tale; the trick is to know and understand the difference.

Clever write.

I know, but i wont try to rub it in ,,,HA!!!!
A very clever little analogy here. The popular version of reality is most definitely a fairy tale.
