Beneath The Tabloids

Beneath The Tabloids

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Anger, resentment and jealousy

Belong in the trash

Beneath a pile of those tabloid magazines.

There are times I miss the can

When I try throwing them away.

But eventually I manage

To sweep those feelings up

And putting them where

They will never see the light of day,

Where they burn up like a vampire in the sun.

With those ugly things out of the way

There is room to proudly display

The beautiful things

That gives my soul a happy home,

Like faith, hope and love.

God this is a breath of fresh air in the middle of a stinky stale maelstrom of harshness in our world, too often it seems. I am so sick of people who are so ready to fight & tear each other down. I want my own personal space to reflect just the things you are describing at the end of your poem (((HUGS)))

Excellent point . . . honoring our bad feelings, but not thriving on them!
Some wallow in it, and suffer greatly. Some do just as you've written here: fight for the good by sweeping the trash away. Bravo for your deep analysis of the human condition. Enjoyed!

Thank you very much... it is how I try to be... so nice to se you in the cafe, tis been a while.
Yes indeed, beneath the tabloids; and beyond the headlines of everyday ordinary, lie the things that matter most; and those we should never, ever throw in the trash.

Beccy.

Appreciate your insightful input.
They are all human emotions but best to keep them in the background as much as possible otherwise you'll never be happy and at peace.

That is so very true.
"There are times I miss the can

When I try throwing them away."

intriguing lines - they remind me of holding on to tantalizing negativities, even when we try to let them go

That is exactly what I meant... thank you.
If only we could all be so smart. One little thing -- I believe it should be feelings, with an S.
