Shadows Of An Angel's Wings

Shadows Of An Angel's Wings

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Give your dreams a chance to fly with the butterfly

As they spread their wings to allow all of nature to see

The colors you envision and hope to one day be.

Allow your hopes to climb the tallest of trees

Climbing through twisted branches like a maze

Using each one as a step to reaching the highest leaf.

Release your inner faith into the unpredictable winds

As it soars onward toward the wild blue yonder

Not letting the gravity of others crash it into the ground.

Give your love the chance to nestle in the nest

Of a heart that wants to bring it warm shelter

And feed it strength even when you have your own.

Under the shadows of an angels wings

Life will always be beautiful and bright

If you just BELIEVE.

Awwww
*sigh*

This was really beautiful Dale, not at all something I would expect a cowboy to write - ha ha
But seriously, what a wonderful piece. Loved your imagery and the peacefulness which came seeping from your piece almost makes me want to believe too.
Very inspirational, think this could lift even the heaviest of souls right now.

Thanks for sharing, needed something like this

Yes . . . if we just believe, then anything is possible.

This is an exquisite write, my friend. I love how you weave nature into the theme. Especially the "butterfly". Reminds me of a quote, and I can't remember who said it, but it goes something like this . . .

"The caterpillar almost gave up hope . . . until she turned into a butterfly"

This is a beautiful, and very inspirational piece that you should be so proud of.

I am :)

This is such a heartwarming and beautifully, hopeful piece. I love the images that you invoked with your words and the calm that filled me as I came to the last line.

This is a prayerful sentiment I could see written on a graduation card to someone being sent off to college...a sweet blessing of sorts. Endearing write!

Belief and faith whether in religion, people or just in the power and mystery of mother nature herself everyone needs it to make it through this world. There are so many horrors in the world yet you point out all the beauty. Great write,

I love this poem. Though doubt and fear have a way of sneaking in at times, if we always draw our strength from love, we have nothing to fear.

This stands for everything I want to be and hope for others to become.

It's perfect.
