Get Your Tongue Out Of My Mouth, I'm Trying To Kiss You Goodbye

Get Your Tongue Out Of My Mouth, I'm Trying To Kiss You Goodbye

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

I want to thank my dear friend Sandy Beaches for the title and challenge

"

Well of course I packed my suitcase,

Did you think I’d leave without some clothes?

I told you bout this a while ago…

I guess you were

Too wrapped up in your self again to pay attention.

Why I couldn’t leave without a few things

And I know you were too busy with Jim Beam.

I can’t see what the big deal is…

It’s not like you will even notice,

Half the time I am a ghost around here

While you’re living just to party.

I’ve told you where I am staying…

Even wrote it down, you probably threw it out

Like you do my feelings when we talk.

I guess one kiss before I leave wouldn’t hurt…

Damn girl get your tongue out of my mouth,

I’m kissing you goodbye not taking you to bed.

Once again you’re not listening…

And you wonder why I’m leaving.

Oh WoW!
Now this is a way to vent!..Expressing your view on a relatable topic can stir up a many emotions...

From love to hate, it's one and the same when it comes to a tumultuous relationship.

Well penned! :)

Thank you so much... glad you liked it.
Well Cowboy, you know we have to read with a title like that one..
I think this is typical of a relationship with someone who is overindulgent..
"Too wrapped up in yoursefto pay attention,
too busy with'Jim Beam"

I enjoyed the read.. xo Rose

Reminds me of an Ex. "Once again you're not listening..." Great story telling.

Why thank you sir.
once again you're not listening...
And you wonder why I'm leaving. -- isn't this the truth...

A strong write. I like the first person perspective in this, because it truly feels as though you are speaking the piece to the one who has wronged you. Very effective in the emotional department...up until the end, I was thinking it was the woman leaving; transference, I guess, but that means that you did your job of putting the reader in your shoes in this one.

For me, the best part of this was the strength in the speaker's voice. The absolute determination and confidence that this is the "right thing"...so many people take this walk out of the door, but few do it with such resolve and committment.

Well as we get older we get set in our ways.
A amazing poem my friend. Funny how people hear what they want to hear. Nice flow of thoughts and i like the purpose of the poem. Feel like a good drinking song. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry my friend.

it was a book I read, and I loved the title!!
You can tell people over and over again, and if they aren't listening you might as well not say anything at all.
