Singing

Singing

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

Music can invoke so many different feelings and bring back many memories... even be your best friend when you are alone.

"

Everyday I sing off key

But in tune with who I am,

Not always in perfect rhythm

Though almost always in harmony.

Always trying to sing to the light

That a new day is upon me

And I am still alive and kicking

To praise the sun in all its glory.

I enjoy singing the words of amore,

Though it seems to be a solo

This stage within my heart

Is built sturdy enough for a duet.

Occasionally I get lost singing

My very own requiem

Though I am not dead yet

Cause I already feel buried.

When I am not of this earth

You can bet I will be singing with soul

So loved ones always know I care

And that I am still here.

As your poem so aptly describes, music touches us on so many different levels it is what they say we can instantly retrieve lyrics and melody to a song we haven't heard in a long time.

And what a beautiful thought to be able to wake each morning with a song on our lips. You've captured something really special here. It reminds me of the words to a special song of mine

"singin' from my soul / everything I am / everything I know "

Well done again encore encore encore

This was so endearing......all the many facets and faces of music in your soul. Love, praise, sorrow, etc. I loved the line that your heart was sturdy enough for two! I loved it!

Your sentiments are so true. I love how music has been there for many of my feelings intensifying the colors of my emotional state. I love how it has also cradled me and kept me through many nights. It pulls great sound
and purpose from my muse. This poem (especially tonight) tells me its time to get my ipod out and KNOW that
all is well.
Thanks so much for this sweet smell (of music).

Wonderful!! The 3rd verse really was my favourite....you like singing the words of amore though it seems to be a solo.... in a metaphorical snse it can be taken 2 ways...unrequited love or a love thats not 100% there. Then, the next part that your 'hearts stage' is built sturdy enough for a duet.....lovely.....very well done Mister. a favourite!

I have to agree with Apollonia in everything she said. Gotta love music when you can feel it in your soul. ^^

I love singing although I can't carry a damn tune worth s**t. Dale, I just don't know how you can maintain such a positive attitude all the time. You really should look into motivational speaking. It's so true though, looking to the light (although I hate the sun and love the moonlight)... really changes perspective.

Keep singing, Cowboy, and we'll listen very carefully.

BRAVO!!! this is going in my favorites. first of all, you know how much i love singing, so this is up my alley. and i like the metaphor of singing and life.

Everyday I sing off key

But in tune with who I am,

Not always in perfect rhythm

Though almost always in harmony.

excellent intro. i could see that being like a motivational phrase i hang on my mirror, to make me happy. we may not sound/look perfect to others, but if we are one with ourselves, our own songs, our own melody, that's what really matters. 5 out of 5 stars!!!

So, you are the singing cowboy......nope I think that was Gene Autry.....lol A great write to lift our spirits! Singing is a wonderful way to awaken memories. Even when I are feeling buried or weighted down by turmoil, singing helps to raise soul above suppression, and/or depression. Music and singing are wonderful companions, and now, most of my singing, I do when I am alone so I don't scare people. lmao

This is a poem about oneness man and his universe, the access to the meditating channel can be likened to having "Star-Trek's transporter in one's home" so we leave the chest to wander but we come home, one is virtually transported to a place maintained for people with similar interests and those we love. I loved this second stanza, that's what I do every morning. great poem.
