Midnight Emotions

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy

Lip lock promises

Subtle persuasion,

Twist of fate

Or twist of Cain?

Eagle eyed stare

Glimpse of denial,

Quicksand to heaven

In memories betrayal.

Juxtapose noises

Makes thinking surreal,

Mix and matching emotions

Creates plastic heart attack.

Steal plated hand shake

Rusts any promises,

Recycling fortunes

Isn’t worth the price.

To deal with the devil

Is to deal with yourself,

The truth of tomorrow

Starts with lies of the past.

Time to wake up

Without an alarm,

Even in an eclipse

The sun never stops.

Midnight Emotions has something to do with seeing oneself; come to face to face with own self without the mask. It is about knowing the lies and truth about existence, which I believe, it's something that we rarely engage in bec we fear facing our own demons. Nonetheless, i like the flow of this piece bec it trudges on the path toward light. Those are words from a wise man.
