Heaven And Hell On Earth

Heaven And Hell On Earth

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Looking over the horizon

I can see forever

Forming in the ridges

Of the mountain’s skyline,

It is the antidote

To the poison of city life.

Don’t get me wrong,

This concrete jungle is my home

But I still need time

To catch my breath.

How can I speak

If I can’t breathe?

How can I be

If I can’t speak?

The trickle down theory

Is rendered useless

When the crimson flow

Needs to be steady.

Without the freedom of open veins

To guide my way

I am assured a one-way ticket

To the four corners of hell.

One person's Hell
Is another haven
Fact
We seem to forget
In our rush through life.

Guess
I'm a city gal
At heart.

Willing to take
In small doses
The countryside
With it's dusty gravel roads.

Thank you, for sharing this poem with us, Dale. :)

heaven and hell right on earth when we don't get the chance to experience the peace and calm of nature...i'm glad i don't work in NYC anymore, too many concrete buildings creating shadows and less trees suffocating our oxygen intake...

Sounds like the phrase,
"Another persons trash, is another persons treasure."
Some people like the countryside while others prefer the city. I myself am a country gal and I love it. I am a cowgirl out on the ranch, and at heart I always will be. I love the poem, thanks for sharing!

oh the concrete jungle - i relate! when we are in an environment and don't feel like a product of the environment - resistance strains....feels like hell!

Powerful, clever, spiritual and abit sad. Sounds like the city is a love-hate relationship in your heart. Thanks for sharing, this was a great read!
