Blood Blinded

Blood Blinded

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Living by the sword

guarantees a lifetime

of bloodshot eyes

and a lifeline channeling

the red sea with no hope of parting it…

no miracle… no savior…

Melancholy cries are futile

when the tears are saltfree

as per politically correct regulations…

legislated emotions…

Every twinkle surrounding

that delusional lunar smile

are burning holes

in the souls of sinners

making deals with the devil

to restore their innocents…

unlived childhoods…

unrehearsed dreams…

So look into the mystery of

the midnight sky

before the morning light

burns away the truth

between good and evil

and the blood dries

your eyes shut…

forever blind.

What a souless existence. Brilliant write! I loved the psychological elements of losing one's soul in this write. It holds a lot of truth!

This is absolutely brilliant, filled with the powerful emotions that cover the world in blood and tears. And we can look on unaffected or even turn our eyes blind to it, but it must not be ignored.. and we must not let governments merely dictate to us what is good and right. We are the people and our voice must cry for peace. You words stir such thoughts.

Why live by the sword, why not spend a liftime looking up into the sky and watching the moments float by? Your words bring up the peacemonger in me .. it, your poem, has such power to it, a mix of fight and be damned, and pause and be saved.

'Legislated emotions' - that conjurs up some uncomfortable feelings in me, not sure but feel that you mean we have to accept the wretched because we're told to or are expected to. Whichever, Dale, this is yet another fine post.
