Graveyard Bed

Graveyard Bed

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

That hollow feeling

in the pit of my stomach

are artificial nutrients

used to fertilize flourishing lands

of those already rich.

The dark void

that echoes in my heart

was created by

deafening cries of children

I never met yet sentences to hell.

Those empty thoughts

plaguing my mind

is an infection

of educational lessons

disguising media tools gone viral.

I feel the need dig my own grave

in the bed that I made

so that when I awake

I may eat, feel and think

like that of a newborn baby.

To embrace this is to reborn, of sorts, I feel!
Amazing work lovely...poignantly reflective and thought provoking for the reader......where there is an end, a beginning cannot be far away :)

What a powerful recollection of the world.. that which is artificial.. draining us... all those things that drag us down, day by day.. age by age.. And your last lines offer that stunning hope that all can begin anew... a fresh day. How i hope that for so many. Excellent insights.

I think we need to throw off our current ways of life and start something new. Artificial nutrients, children crying, empty thoughts...you describe so well our culture in this little poem. I love this image of burying it all and being born again.

The very fact you've formatted these thoughts and feelings in large black font makes your poem even more powerful yet compassionate, Dale. Seems in most so-called civilised countries people shrug away the fact that we're letting so-called leaders control us and in doing that, we're letting the rot dig deeper and deeper. Words like yours open doors to a better future .. but they need trillions more people saying the same THEN - they need to get off their proud thoughts and actually do something.

Rant over, I agree with you all the way!

Wow. Written to create such an effect that I cannot even describe... Each part of this poem just blows me away. I love the end too, that cry for innocence. Amazing job
