Too Cool(TooCold)

Being hearing James Dean by the Eagles a lot lately.

 

 

Standing there the epitome of cool,

like a James Dean Ice sculptor.

Not a hair out of place

but the time lines on his face

tell a different story.

Once he owned these streets

now he can’t rent a corner.

Not smiling in his youth

was part of the tough image,

but in these weaker years

there is nothing to make him happy.

The loner attitude was the match,

careless emotions the gasoline

that burned the bridges

to friends, family and love.

When you rebel without a cause

it eventually causes a rebel of one.

very clever word winds around here~ and a very wise observation indeed~Jimmy Dean was way before my time~ but his legend tweaks curiosity across generational lines~ he died young so young~ wondering if he would have passed a lonely rebel if he'd lived~

Wonderful observation Cowboy. The actions of our youth may well affect the waning years of our lives. But we don't think of that while we are committing them. Love this....as I do all your poems!! ;-)
