Jessie was always a

Couraguos child.

Growing up

Having to deal with

Her parents drug

And alcohol problems.

Trying to hide herself

Every night when she

Went to bed,

So the men would not

Find her,

And make her do

Dirty things to them.

 

Jessie finally got

The chance to leave

Her house when she

Was 16.

Her father died in a

Car accident.

He hit a tree,

Took off the back

Of his head.

The courts found her

Addict mom too unfit

To take care of Jess.

So, foster care

Here comes Jessie Cunningham.

 

The first family was nice,

That only lasted about

A few months.

 

Second family was just

More of the same.

 

Then at 17, Jess

was adopted by the Richardsons.

This family was perfect

Jess thought.

They bought her a car,

Told her that they

Love her.

Got her to enroll at

The local college.

In her wildess dreams,

Jess never thought that

She would ever go to college.

 

This was the life that Jess

Had alwayswanted.

When she turned 19,

She changed her last name

To Richardson.

Moved to New York City

To become an interior designer,

And continue her college career at NYU.

 

You know how the saying goes,

"Stop and smell the roses"?

Well, Jessie stops and smells

All the flowers,

Because, now,

Jessie truely knows

What true happiness is.
